Quick Start
Follow these four steps to get up and running with any PlugInModel tool.
Step 01
Install a Tool
Head to the Downloads page and install the PlugInModel tool that fits your workflow — each tool includes a one-click installer.
- 1.Visit the Downloads page from the navigation bar
- 2.Pick the tool you need and click Download
- 3.Run the installer as Administrator and select your Revit version
- 4.The tool will appear automatically in Revit on next launch
Step 02
Open Revit and Find the Plugin
Once installed, open Revit. PlugInModel tools appear in the ribbon under the Add-Ins tab or in a dedicated PlugInModel tab.

- 2.Open or create a project
- 3.Click the Add-Ins tab in the top ribbon
- 4.Locate the PlugInModel section and click any tool icon to start
Step 03
Run Your First Command
Most tools work with a single click. Select elements in your model (if needed), then launch the tool and follow any on-screen prompts.
- 1.Select the Revit elements you want to work with (walls, rooms, views, etc.)
- 2.Click the tool button in the ribbon
- 3.Review and confirm the action in the tool dialog
- 4.The tool runs and reports results — check the success summary
Step 04
Explore More Tools
Browse the full tool library to discover automations for auditing, exporting, tagging, standards transfer, and more.
- 1.Visit the Tools page for a full catalogue with descriptions
- 2.Filter by category: Modeling, Documentation, Coordination, etc.
- 3.Each tool card links to detailed usage instructions
- 4.Request a custom tool if you have a workflow not covered
Key Concepts
One Tool, One Job
Each PlugInModel tool is purpose-built for a single task. This keeps them fast, predictable, and safe to use without affecting unrelated parts of your model.
Non-Destructive by Default
All tools operate within Revit's transaction system. If anything goes wrong, Revit's built-in Undo (Ctrl+Z) will fully reverse the change.
Standards-Aware
Tools respect your project's shared parameters, line styles, fill patterns, and other standards — they never overwrite settings without confirmation.
